Couch / Sofa
Disposal Rules
Couches and sofas are accepted in dumpsters. They are extremely bulky and can fill a significant portion of a 10-yard container. Remove cushions and, if possible, cut the frame apart to save space.
Pro Tip
Stand the couch on its end against the dumpster wall. Better yet, cut it apart with a reciprocating saw to save major space.
Alternatives
Donation centers like Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity accept couches in good condition. Some offer free pickup.
